Swine flu
April 28th, 2009Hello all,
I am sure you have all read and heard many things about this, I think you should not worry about it much, news tend to take things out of proportion, I am not saying that is something lacking of importance but you should not panic, it has spread basically on the mainland, in the center part of Mexico.
Because of Cabo’s location at the very tip of the peninsula (we are really isolated from the rest of the country), the risk on contamination here is almost zero, given the security measures already taken by the government and at airports. I was watching the late news a little while ago while catching up with my emails and the head of the Mexican health department, said that after they started the preventive measures 4 days ago, today they already had a small decrease in the number of new cases of infected people.
According to latest government communication this should be controlled within the next week and the actions taken are only preventive, so I don’t think it will represent ANY danger if you are planning a trip to our beautiful destination in the following weeks. Should existing conditions change I will inform you immediately.
For those of you coming in the next few days, Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo and our state in general are still disease free areas and we sure hope they stay like this, vacationing here is safe and fun as always!!!!
